How to keep your hair extensions in great shape

Hair is always hair, either on your head or cut off of the head so you must always care for your crown in the upmost caring way possible.

  • Brush your hair before bed starting at the bottom and working your way to the top with a ball tipped brush.
  • Braid or twist your hair afterwards and sleep in a satin bonnet or scarf.
  • Before swimming wet your hair completely this allows the shaft to fill up with water , preventing an excessive amount of chlorine (pool) or salt water (ocean) in the hair
  • after you finish swimming rinse your hair completely to rid it of at least 75% of unnatural minerals/chemicals. If you don't the rays from the sun will bake the minerals into your hair causing a change in the hair texture and drying it out. The same for your natural hair
  • Do not use oil sheen because it causes heaviness and attracts dirt which can lead to matting and tangling.  This ruins the hair due to your stylist will be forced to use a highly alkaline shampoo to remove the buildup and possibly damaging the underlying cuticle.
  • i love to use coconut oil or Macadamia oil products for sheen such as there oil treatment and spray.
  • shampoo and conditioner i recommend for home maintenance on hair extensions is suave professional coconut oil or tresseme.
  • always follow up with your stylist for maintenance
  • never keep extensions in longer than 1 inch of new growth
